Great candidates for liposuction are those who have “pockets” of fat that are unresponsive to diet and exercising. Dr. Graham usually uses the tumescent liposuction technique.

It is generally done in conjunction with general anesthesia. During the tumescent liposuction procedure, the treated areas are filled with fluid that shrink blood vessels, make fat easily removable, and provides partial numbness to the area. A cannula (hollow tube) is then placed in through the incision to suction the fat out. The incision is generally 3/8ths an inch long and is placed in an inconspicuous spot.
