Dr. Gregory Combs

Gregory Combs was born in Cheverly, Maryland in June of 1960, the youngest of four sons of Lily and Jerry Combs in suburban Washington, DC. His father was a professor of Nutrition at the University of Maryland, his mother a full-time homemaker. Greg’s brothers (a nutritionist, a pilot, and an actor,) provided inspiration to work hard and strive for excellence from earliest childhood.

Gregory Combs graduated from Colorado State University in 1982 with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, and considered working in environmental sciences, but decided to pursue a career in medicine. At Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, he was exposed to the field of surgery, where he found his niche. Upon graduation from Vanderbilt in 1986, Dr. Combs came to Portland to begin a residency in General Surgery. During surgical training he was most attracted to the finesse, precision, and artistry of plastic surgery. He completed residency training in Plastic Surgery in 1992, and a fellowship in hand and micro-vascular surgery in 1993. Dr. Combs joined Karl O. Wustrack, M.D. in 1993, and began to build his practice with a dedication to quality and integrity.

Dr. Combs lives in West Linn, Oregon with his wife, two daughters, and their Siberian husky. Together they enjoy hiking, camping, running, gardening, reading, listening to music, and watching movies.
