After graduating from Tulane University and LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, she went on to train in general surgical residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York, New York. During her general surgery training, she was chosen to spend a year as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the internationally renowned Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During this time, she pursued her research interests in the biological behavior of skin and scarless wound healing with clinical fetal surgery. This research won the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation Grant in 2001, and she was awarded the Best Scientific Paper at the 35th Anniversary Meeting of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Gordon subsequently trained in plastic surgery at the prestigious Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA, completing a 3-year residency.
