I found Dr Fiala on the internet because I am living out of town. He had all of the right qualifications and his before and after photos seemed great. Plus, unlike most of the other PS's I found, I checked out his background and he didn't have any lawsuits against him or anything negative that I could find. On paper, he was exactly what I was looking for.
I called lots of doctors in the Orlando area, but even though they all said on their websites that they were very accommodating for out of towners, no one else was helpful at all. In fact, I was beginning to think I shouldn't go through with it. Then I called Dr Fiala and one of his nurses, Sandy talked with me. She was SO helpful. I talked on the phone with her all of the time and we also e-mailed back and forth. I sent them some before pics via e-mail so they had a pretty good idea of what I needed.
Because I had to fly there and my schedule was tight, they made every accommodation possible for me. When I got there, Dr Fiala was very nice and all of the staff already knew me! On the day of the surgery, I went to the hospital (because I was having two procedures- the liposuction and a BA)
and one of the hospital nurses told me that she sees PS's come in all of the time and that Dr Fiala is definitely the best! He made me feel very comfortable and made sure that I was completely happy with the areas he had marked for the lipo, he even marked a little more than I had expected which was great!
When I woke up, the hospital room I was in was beautiful. I am so glad that I stayed there because the nurses were very helpful and it hardly felt like a hospital at all. Everyone said it looked like a hotel room! I could tell already that my love handles were gone, even through the swelling. Dr Fiala said that they had taken out over 3 liters, which was a liter more than I had expected!
The first few days were rough, but I did everything they told me to do. His office staff were all very nice- especially Sandy who always talked to me and made me feel better even when I kept calling and asking the typical questions.
After about a week and half I was already pretty thrilled with the way I looked. My friends were also impressed and one of them (who had already had a consultation w/ Dr Fiala) called that very day and booked her surgery for later the same week. Since my friend had hers on a Friday, Sandy called a few times over the weekend to check up on her. She and I both think that he is awesome and we'll definitely go back to him if we ever want anything else done!
I went in for lymphatic drainage massage 4x before I went home and I think it really helped. I am now at 6 weeks and I look better than I ever expected. Another one of my friends has also scheduled surgery with Dr Fiala for next month. We all think he is great! He has been so nice and Sandy has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help. Not to mention that I feel great and look even better! My two friends and I have all met or spoken with countless PS's in Orlando and think that he is the best. I am just happy to say that I found a brilliant doctor and I had a positive experience. I would recommend Dr Fiala 100%!
