Getting Started

A plastic surgical consultation should be a two-way communication. Dr. Bernard believes in the importance of listening carefully to the goals you have in mind for your surgery and then developing a customized surgical plan to address your specific needs.

When you call our office for a consultation, we will ask you which procedures you are contemplating so that we may send you brochures and information, including directions to our office, prior to your appointment. After reading the brochures, you will have a better idea of the questions you would like to ask Dr. Bernard.

During the consultation, Dr. Bernard often will discuss various options for treatment, providing you with all the necessary information to make a fully informed choice. He provides ample time for each consultation so that you will have plenty of opportunity to ask all of your questions. He can even help you visualize the potential results of surgery using computer imaging.

Our patient coordinator will meet with you following your consultation to ensure that you have all the informational materials you need. If you have decided at that time to go ahead with surgery, she can review possible dates with you. She may also provide you with general instructions to help prepare you for surgery.

If you have questions at any time -- before and after your surgery -- you will find Dr. Bernard and his staff responsive to your needs and ready to assist you in any way possible.
