Fat removal with liposuction is a very effective treatment for this kind of gynecomastia. We have gone beyond simple liposuction and added the MPX/SmartLipo. This allows us to remove the fat in a much less traumatic fashion and at the same time cause significantly further skin shrinkage and tightening. In some men, however, the breasts contain a combination of fat and glandular tissue. Traditional liposuction is less effective in these cases because the cannula cannot remove glandular tissue. We, however, introduced the “scarless” male breast reduction several years ago. We utilize state-of-the-art technology for this remarkable procedure, which allows us to break up hard glandular tissue and remove it through the suction cannula used to perform liposuction. Liposuction “Scarless” Breast Reduction Liposuction is one of the newest methods of reducing breast volume. Fatty tissue of the breast is removed using fine tube-like instruments called a cannula. The fat is extracted leaving the breast glands intact. The surgery takes about 1 hour under twilight sleep and the patient is back home within 2 hours of the surgery and there is virtually no pain afterwards and there are no incisions to heal. Patients put on a good sports bra and can be back to work in 3 days. The only restriction on physical activity is the patients own discomfort level. Once the weight has been removed from the breasts the areola (dark part surrounding the nipple) and skin shrink dramatically which gives some elevation of the nipple The operation provides a significant lift in most patients, but the amount of lift is determined by the patients elastic skin characteristics, not skin removal.
