Edward A. Pechter, beloved and highly regarded plastic surgeon and philanthropist of the Santa Clarita Valley in Southern California, died suddenly Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010 at his home at the age of 60. Dr. Pechter lived for 30 years in Chicago and spent the past 30 years in California. He received the award for excellence in clinical teaching for plastic surgery residents at UCLA in 2005 and was part of a medical team that traveled to China and performed free palate repairs for children there.

Edward A. Pechter, M.D. F.A.C.S. has practiced in the Santa Clarita Valley of California for over twenty years. He trained in the prestigious Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he maintains a teaching affiliation. In 2005, he was honored with the UCLA Plastic Surgery Clinical Faculty Teaching Award for Excellence in Resident Education.

When not in the operating room, Dr. Pechter applies his creativity to writing and to inventions, including a patented bra measuring system, the "Helium Balloon" breast lift, the "Tummy Tuck Grid," the Morris Crisscross suture technique, and a copyrighted worksheet for solving the popular number puzzle, Sudoku.
