Ideas & suggestions
  • Ask to purchase your garment ahead of time. You can try it out & possibly find “trouble spots” ( Chafing, etc.) to discuss with your Plastic Surgeon I wore a binder and was allowed to wash & SOFTEN it prior to surgery. This will also give you an idea of what kind of replacement garment you will want to buy for when your Plastic Surgeon allows you to switch. I brought mine to my 4 day post visit & he liked it so much I was allowed to substitute it!
Supplies

If you will wear your garment when you use the toilet:

  • Baby wipes
  • Desitin
  • Paper cups

If you have a garment that hooks or velcros at the crotch:

  • Very light, loose, thong type panties for under (no seems) I used the ones my Plastic Surgeon had be wear for exams & photos.( They just throw them away!)

Other supplies

  • Senekot ( for possible constipation from pain pills)
  • Arnica GEL
  • Fresh Pineapple and Pineapple Juice
  • I made many containers of homemade vegetable soup. This is filling, nutritious and soothing. You may not have much of an appetite the first few days post.

Supplies for leaking

  • Some sanitary pads (placed right on top or your garment if necessary)
  • Line your car, recliner and bed with a shower curtain, plastic sheet or even large, plastic trash bag. OVER this, some people use towels, but I bought disposable bed liners from the pharmacy( incontinence section)
  • My personal favorite compression garments for after, are “Flexees” Brand, which are available in most better department stores.

If you have a recliner in your home, you'll definitely want to make use of it. If you don't have a recliner, try to borrow or rent one for at least a week after you have lipo.

Important: Always make sure you consult with your surgeon and/or anesthesiologist to inform them of any supplements that you are taking.
